Enjoying: #Home-made Date and Walnut-Cake

A few days back I wrote a post on my other blog (www.ankurlearntolive.com)about how FAT (FULL) cakes at Starbucks makes my mind and heart go into a fight on whether to have it or not. I think my wife must have read that post as she understood the conflict and came to help me with this delicious #Date-and-Walnut-Cake(Sugar free) prepared at home. The good thing about this is that its made of natural sugar (hindi :gud ; english:jaggery) and does not contain artificial or processed sugar and for vegetarian out there, its egg-less.

If you are thinking of how to try and make it, here you go: http://eat-hearty.blogspot.com/2011/01/date-and-walnut-cake-sugar-free.html

It looks good enough to die for, Ankur. smile And thanks for the recipe. We get dates very cheaply here in Holland, so it looks like an easy one...except for the jaggery part. I have no idea where to find it.
Ankur Bhatia: Thanks for the comment Ginnie. You can try sugar as a substitute for jaggery. Trust me, only the name will change but taste would still be - I wont sya you try and let me know.

This looks really great, Ankur. I'll definitely make it sometime. I also have a sugar-free, dairy-free date recipe. I'll look it out and send it to you soon.
Ankur Bhatia: Thanks Penny...I would be waiting, do send me your recipe.

Cheaper than Starbucks, too! I'm still eating a rich fruit cake left over from Christmas; just a small piece at a time.
Ankur Bhatia: Alan, I too am kind of addicted to Starbucks...daily 3 visits a minimum ..I hope this cake would let me save some bucks while I enjoy my coffee and cake.
As my wife and I are trying to lose some weight I will pay this site a visitsmile
Ankur Bhatia: thanks Bill. Let me know you feedback or you can like on Facebook.- honest reviews are welcome no matter good or bad..
How fantastic... sugar free .. just my style. Great shot too. Yummy..
My favourite. Don't do dairy and sugar free, though as that would mean not spreading butter on it! Like the Failed Water Drop and view from window posted earlier.
